Belief

Have you just ever stopped to ask yourself what is it that you believe and what makes you believe in a thing?  Do you really know what the Bible says about believing?
You know when we were children if our parents said it, we believed it because they were our parents and they took care of us. So how much more should we believe what the unadulterated word of God says? After all, once we came into the knowledge of HIM we began to understand that HE takes care of us right.

Romans 10:9 states:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

King James Version (KJV)

That scripture is the basis for our whole life.  Webster defines belief as: A state or habit of mind in which trust or confidence is placed in someone or thing.  What really stuck out to me about this particular definition was the habit of mind. A habit is: a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.  A settled or regular practice…it requires our participation. Belief is active. We have to DO something. Hmm. That is all!

Letting Go

Christians, it is time to live life, love yourself and be happy.  You know often times we as Christians hold on far too long.  Whether it be holding on to lopsided friendships or holding on to unrequited love, we need to know when to let go.  Believe it or not, there is joy in letting go.  There is also peace in letting go.  I have experienced healing in letting go.  My experience in letting go of the things and people that do not want to be a part of my life has actually been cathartic.

Once you can acknowledge that a relationship is bringing no added value to your life and is instead detracting from it, you can then begin your process of letting go.  It may not be easy for you to face the facts of the relationship but it is necessary.  You know in Philippians 3:13-14 it states: “Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus”, or as Job 17:9 states: “The righteous shall move onward and forward; those with pure hearts shall become stronger and stronger.”

So you see, letting go positions you to move forward and grow stronger.  It is crucial for your happiness and joy.  So I admonish you to let go of those people and things with enthusiasm because there is JOY on the other side of this process.  Live, love and enjoy life with enthusiasm because you deserve it.

Don’t give up

Today I was listening to Pandora and the rotation of songs had a very specific theme….it’s not over.  As I began to really meditate on this I thought about the scriptures and how the word says in Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Have you ever just thought about the power that we possess?  I mean it blows my mind that God has trusted us to speak what he has already told us. Life and it more abundantly. That’s Gods promise. John 10:10 says: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

When tragedy comes our way we have the power to speak ourselves out of it.

The word of God has current day applications. What I mean by that is we can apply it to our everyday situations. He has given us a roadmap on how to speak and but action to our faith.  You know the Bible states in Malachi 3:10: Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. He was talking about the tithe (in your time, your talent, and your treasure). He says to test HIM. Us test GOD….I dare you to try HIM.  Do it because it ain’t over. The situations and circumstances that you find yourself dealing with are a setup for God to prove HIMSELF might in your life.
Shalom.
